Six Students Receive 2008 PSECU Scholarship
Harrisburg, PA - PSECU is pleased to announce the winners of the 2008 PSECU Scholarship. Every year, PSECU offers six, $4,000 scholarships to high school seniors planning to further their education. The scholarship is $1,000 per year for up to four consecutive years.
This year's scholarship winners were chosen from a pool of over 400 applicants based on four categories: GPA; SAT Scores; civic involvement; and an essay question. This year's essay question was, "How Will Furthering Your Education Allow You to Put the Credit Union Philosophy of "People Helping People' into Action?"
This year's recipients are:
- Molly Allen, High Point, NC - Molly is a graduate of The Early College at Guilford and is planning to attend the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
- Ben Henig, Harrisburg, PA - Ben is a graduate of Susquehanna Township High School and is planning to attend Brandeis University.
- Joshua Kurtz, Harrisburg, PA - Joshua is a graduate of Susquehanna Township High School and plans to attend Bucknell University.
- Priya Marathe, Princeton Junction, NJ -Priya is a graduate of West Windsor-Plainsboro High School North and is currently making her final decisions on what school she will be attending
- Thomas Polacek, Johnstown, PA - Thomas is a graduate of Westmont Hilltop High School and plans to attend the University of Pennsylvania
- Daniel Tomaso, Harrisburg, PA - Daniel is a graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School and will be attending The Pennsylvania State University.
