PSECU Enters 10th Year of Sponsorship of Kipona Artfest
HARRISBURG, PA - September 3, 2009 - At a press conference at the Harrisburg City Government Center, PSECU announced its sponsorship of Artfest at the 2009 Kipona Festival. The Kipona celebration is one of the top five festivals in Pennsylvania and is one of the oldest inland waterfront festivals in the United States. The PSECU Artfest is a special dedicated area of the festival that will feature over 150 artists and craftspeople from across the country.
With its sponsorship, PSECU also received a tent location that they have teamed up with Giant Foods for the second year to donate tent space to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank. The tent gives the Food Bank a place to educate the public about the services it provides to Central Pennsylvanians. The Food Bank also raises awareness of Hunger Action Month, which is in September.
At the press conference, Nate Muniz, PSECU Public Relations Manager, stated, "Kipona has special meaning to PSECU for another reason as well - as Pennsylvania's largest credit union, being involved in our community is a key part of our mission. This is one of the many reasons that we've been a sponsor for so long. It's also why we're teaming up with Giant Foods and the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank again this year to help raise awareness of the wonderful work that the Food Bank does to fight hunger in the region. Hunger is an enduring problem in our region, and the recent economic problems have demonstrated why organizations such as the Food Bank are so crucial to our community."
