PSECU Celebrates Global Traditions at Harrisburg Holiday Parade
HARRISBURG, PA - November 23, 2009 - Every year PSECU and its employees look forward to the holiday season for a number of reasons - the fellowship, family, food and gifts. Another major reason that they look forward to this time of year is the credit union's sponsorship of the Harrisburg Holiday Parade.
Beginning in 1986, the Harrisburg Holiday Parade is the largest parade in Central Pennsylvania. This year's theme was "Harrisburg Celebrates a World of Holiday Traditions!"
In that spirit of international cooperation and holiday celebration, PSECU hosted representatives from two local non-profits on this year's parade float: the Interfaith Shelter for Homeless Families and the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank. The float was also decorated with a large globe, mountains of gift boxes, and flags representing a wide variety of countries from around the world. During the parade PSECU's float was evaluated by a panel of judges and was awarded First Place in the Commercial Sponsored Floats category.
In addition, PSECU also escorted a "Cookie Monster" parade balloon, while a group of PSECU employees and guests handed out animal crackers to the crowd.
