PSECU Supports 2010 PA Farm Show

HARRISBURG, PA - January 7, 2010 - Agriculture is one of the top industries in Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Farm Show serves as a showcase for all of the hard work and innovation of the Commonwealth's agricultural producers. The largest agricultural event in the nation, the Farm Show expects to draw over 400,000 to this year's festivities.

In the spirit of cooperation and support of this Pennsylvania institution, PSECU will again be providing transportation to state employees and the general public in downtown Harrisburg to the Farm Show Complex during the lunch hours. PSECU has provided this service for the past three years and ridership has continued to increase, reaching 4,895 riders in 2009.

All riders will receive a non-transferrable bus pass good for the entire week on the specially designated Farm Show buses only. Passes will be distributed at the following stops:

  • Walnut Street at Commonwealth Avenue
  • Commonwealth Avenue at Forster Street
  • 7th Street adjacent to PHEAA's main entrance

The buses will pick up riders at these stops Monday through Friday, January 11-15, 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. The last return bus leaves the Farm Show at 2 p.m.

"The Farm Show buses are a perfect fit for PSECU," notes Barbara J. Bowker, Vice President of Marketing for PSECU. "We are providing a service to our founding member base and local community while helping promote the farmers and products from around the state."

PSECU will also sponsor the Renewable Energy Exhibit at this year's Farm Show. The exhibit highlights the many alternative energy sources being researched and employed throughout Pennsylvania. In previous years, the exhibit showcased a number of different technologies including wind, solar, anaerobic digesters, and vehicles powered solely by biofuels.
