Harrisburg, PA (April 29, 2019) - To celebrate Public Service Recognition Week (May 5-11, 2019), Pennsylvania's largest credit union, PSECU, will offer free coffee drinks in Bethlehem, Harrisburg, and State College on May 7. Public service employees, as well as the general community, are invited to partake.
"What better way to start off the day than with a cup of coffee? That's why to celebrate Public Service Recognition Week, coffee is on PSECU the morning of May 7," said the credit union's President George Rudolph. "We invite everyone to join us - whether you work in public service or not - for a free cup of coffee at our partners' locations in Bethlehem, Harrisburg, and State College. Together, we'll celebrate and thank all those who serve in federal, state, county, and local government who ensure our collective well-being and help make our communities stronger, safer, and more vibrant for everyone to enjoy."
On Tuesday, May 7, at Sagra Beans Coffeehouse & Roastery in Bethlehem (7-9 a.m.), Little Amps's Strawberry Square Kiosk and Downtown (State Street) Harrisburg location (6:45-9 a.m.), and Duck Donuts State College (7-9 a.m.), customers who order designated coffee drinks will receive their beverages for free, courtesy of PSECU, as a gesture of appreciation to all those who work in the public service sector.
At a similar Public Service Recognition Week event held last year at Little Amps's Strawberry Square Kiosk and Downtown Harrisburg location and Duck Donuts State College, PSECU provided 328 people with complimentary drinks during the promotional period. This year's promotion will feature a fourth location in Bethlehem, further extending free coffee offer to include the Lehigh Valley.
"Most people know that PSECU was founded by state employees because it is in our name - Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union. What they may not realize is that since then, we've extended our field of membership to include many other groups. Today, the majority of statewide government units and public service employees can join PSECU and take advantage of the Money Back Banking benefits we offer," explained Rudolph. "Around 1,500 Pennsylvania organizations and businesses offer PSECU membership as an employee benefit, too, and students, alumni, faculty, and staff of all schools in Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education, as well as many community colleges and private educational institutions, are all also able to take advantage of joining and benefitting from membership in PSECU. With so many possibilities, you're likely eligible to become a PSECU member, even if you don't know it."
Opened in 1934, PSECU was founded by 22 ordinary people who pooled $90 and made an extraordinary commitment to each other: To create a financial institution where collective resources benefit all members. Today, PSECU continues that legacy as a leading full-service credit union managing more than $5.5 billion in assets and offering its over 450,000 members convenient anytime, anywhere digital banking options. PSECU was named a 2019 Best-In-State Credit Union by Forbes Magazine and a Best Credit Union of 2020 by GOBankingRates. For more information about PSECU, visit psecu.com.
