Harrisburg, PA (December 30, 2019) – Pennsylvania’s anytime, anywhere digital credit union, PSECU, was named the winner of the 2019 Centre County Economic Development Partnership (CCEDP) Economic Development Champion Award by the Chamber of Business and Industry of Centre County (CBICC) during the annual CBICC Excellence Awards ceremony on December 12.
The CCEDP Economic Development Champion Award recognizes an individual or business who is a strong and vital partner in the collective mission to drive business growth and success, and job creation in all of Centre County. This year it was sponsored by PennTerra Engineering.
“Partnerships are key to maintaining the growth and job creation that help make our area successful. This year’s CCEDP Award recipient [PSECU] also values partnerships, in fact, they pride themselves on being a trusted financial partner for their members,” said John Sepp, Chairman of the CBICC Board of Directors and President of PennTerra Engineering, who presented the award. “I can personally attest that this company’s employees live their mission every day, which focuses on making our community stronger and giving back where it matters most by advocating for opportunity in all areas of life.”
“I’d like to thank the Chamber of Business and Industry of Centre County and the Centre County Economic Development Partnership for this award,” said PSECU President and CEO George Rudolph. “On behalf of our more than 450,000 members, we strive to make positive impacts on the communities we serve across Pennsylvania and beyond. Sturdy bonds with organizations like CBICC and CCEDP are key in achieving that objective, and we couldn’t be more pleased to be named their 2019 economic development champion!”
PSECU also served as the Presenting Sponsor of the 2019 CBICC Excellence Awards event and sponsored this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award, which was presented to Lance T. Shaner, Chairman and CEO of Shaner Group.
“PSECU and CBICC have a longstanding relationship built on a mutual vision to make Centre County a great place to live, work, and conduct business,” said PSECU Vice President of Marketing and Membership Development Barb Bowker, who also serves on the CBICC Board of Directors. “It’s an honor to support them in their efforts to recognize and applaud the best of Centre County’s business community.”
