STATEMENT: Harrisburg, PA (June 9, 2020) - PSECU shares our sympathy, regret, and outrage for the recent tragic event that unfolded in Minneapolis as well as to the many others who have fallen victim to the systemic racism and social injustice that has plagued our country for generations. The most recent tragedy reinforced the need for positive change and societal transformation going forward. As a community, we can and must do better.
It will take time and sustained commitment to fully achieve meaningful change. Open dialog, increased awareness and sensitivity, and continued learning will all be key to reversing the ongoing issue of racial injustice.
PSECU was founded on, believes in, and lives the “people helping people” credit union philosophy. We exist to serve our members, provide them with opportunities to make better lives for themselves and their families, and assist in building strong, healthy, and vibrant communities. This goal simply cannot be fully achieved while racism and social injustice remain present.
We pledge to work with and support our industry and community partners to identify new ways to end racial injustice and actively promote inclusivity and equality.
