It starts with the products and services we offer. We charge few, if any, fees. One of our data analysts actually calculated the fee income per member of the 100 largest credit unions in the U.S. Our fee income per member was under $20 per member, placing us in the 99th spot in terms of low fees.
On the lending side, we are proud to continually offer low-rate lending and refinancing solutions to help members make the most of their hard-earned money. Our credit cards are well below national averages – 9.9% Annual Percentage Rate (APR) for our Visa® Classic Card and 12.9% variable APR for our Founder’s Card that offers 1.5% cash rewards. From a security perspective, safeguarding our members’ personal and financial data is our number one priority. We use the best commercially available software and employ a full-time, specially trained information security staff. That’s in addition to our growing IT staff who is looking at emerging technologies to make banking with us even simpler, safer and more convenient than ever before.
The last component of how we earn our members’ trust is the service we provide. I’ve received countless thank you emails from members who write to me about the representatives who have gone above and beyond to resolve their issues.
A few years back, we embarked on an initiative to gather feedback through surveys. Since the program’s inception, we’ve consistently ranked either at the top or close to it in terms of member loyalty. To cap off a great year, we were the overall relationship top performer in member experience for 2016 based on Member Loyalty Group’s industry benchmark.
