Using Zelle® Safely

These days, it’s important for your money to keep up with the speed of your life. Being able to send money to people you know quickly, safely, and easily is a key part of that.

We’ve partnered with Zelle® so you can easily send money to friends, family, and others you trust. You can use Zelle® to send and receive money, split the cost of a bill, or pay your roommate for your share of the rent.

Zelle® allows you to send and receive money quickly, typically in minutes between enrolled users! To do so, you only need an email address or U.S. mobile phone number. And Zelle® is easily accessible simply by logging into your online or mobile bank account.

Remember: it’s best to think of using Zelle® the same as you do when using cash. When sending money, always make sure you know that person and confirm their contact information before you hit "Send."

We put together these helpful tips to make sure your money is always sent safely!

KNOW: Only use Zelle® to send money to friends, family, and other people you trust.

VERIFY: Make sure your recipient’s name and their U.S. mobile phone number or email address are correct before sending money.

BE AWARE: If a payment situation feels off, it probably is. Trust your gut and investigate before authorizing a person-to-person payment.

As with any suspicion of fraud or a scam, if you feel your information has been compromised or you were a victim, please contact PSECU’s Loss Prevention & Security at 800.237.7328, extension 3111. Someone is available Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (ET). Until you're able to connect with a PSECU representative, you can utilize the card protection functions in mobile or online banking.
