Harrisburg, PA - January 20, 2016 - Last week marked the 100th anniversary of the Pennsylvania Farm Show held in Harrisburg, PA at the Farm Show Complex. For nearly 10 years, PSECU has worked with PennAg and Capital Area Transit (CAT) to provide free shuttle service for this event. In the past, this service was designated for state employees as a way for PSECU to acknowledge its founding membership group. In 2016, PSECU opened this service up to the public.
The 2016 Farm Show shuttle service ran Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and provided individuals in the downtown Harrisburg and Elmerton Avenue areas with a free, convenient, and environmentally friendly way to visit the Farm Show during their lunch breaks.
In addition to providing shuttle service, PSECU employees greeted riders upon arrival at the Farm Show and handed out reusable grocery bags to help them carry back food or other goods they purchased while at the event. In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Farm Show, PSECU collaborated with PennAg and the Dairymen's Association to add a special bonus to some of these bags. For each day of shuttle service, 100 of the tote bags were randomly stuffed with a $2 coupon to be used in the Farm Show food court.
Opened in 1934, PSECU was founded by 22 ordinary people who made an extraordinary commitment to each other: To create a financial institution where pooled resources benefit all members. Today, we are a full-service credit union serving more than 400,000 members and have over $4 billion in assets. As a not-for-profit financial institution, our goal remains to help our members and their families achieve a better life.
