5 Benefits of Electronic Bank Statements and Tax Forms

Digital banking includes online and mobile banking and has many features designed for convenience and security. In this post, we’re going to look at the five benefits of electronic statements and tax forms.

Benefits of Electronic Documents

Faster delivery. After you’ve opted out of paper documents, you’ll receive an email notice of availability as soon as your documents are available for viewing. You can start reviewing them immediately.

More secure method of receiving documents. Despite how much attention cybercrime gets these days, old-fashioned mail theft still happens and is a major contributor to identity theft.

Reduces paper clutter. When you have gone paperless by opting out of mailed statements and forms, you won’t have to deal with storing and securing paper documents. You can access a full seven years of statements and tax forms in digital banking.

Better for the environment. Environmental sustainability is important to us. We would love your help in reducing our use of paper to print and mail statements and tax forms.

Supports our digital-first model. Giving you the tools to take care of your banking when and where you want is what digital-first is all about. Like our other digital tools, access to electronic documents means you’re managing them how and when it’s convenient for you.

What Else You Need to Know

If you use either online or mobile banking, electronic versions of your statements and forms are always available to you. However, to truly go paperless, you need to opt in to receiving these documents digitally.

In the mobile app, first tap the menu in the upper left corner of any dashboard. Select Statements & Tax Forms, then select the three vertical dots in the upper right corner to access the area where you tap on Paperless Preferences so you can make the appropriate choice.

In online banking, select the menu in the upper left corner of the Accounts dashboard. Select Statements & Tax Forms, then look on the right side of the screen. You should see a box titled Online Statements & Documents where you can select Paperless Preferences.

How to view electronic documents. As mentioned earlier, we store seven years of statements and tax forms. To view them in both online and mobile formats, select the menu in the upper left corner of any dashboard.
Next, select Statement & Tax Forms. You’ll see current year documents, with the option to select previous years.

Digital banking includes online and mobile banking compatible with desktops, tablets, and smartphones. You can sign up online at our login page. For mobile, you’ll need to download the PSECU Mobile App. Visit your device’s app store to download.
