General Questions
Can I cancel a member-to-member transfer?
If the member you transferred the money to has not claimed the funds, you can cancel the transfer.
Does PSECU offer wire transfers?
PSECU offers same day and next day domestic wire transfers from your PSECU account, Monday through Friday. There is a $10 charge for each transfer made. A domestic wire transfer is defined as using only financial institutions within the U.S. banking system to send to Recipient or Beneficiary accounts held within the U.S. and their territories.
Can I transfer money between business and personal accounts?
Funds transfers are available on sole proprietorship accounts only. There is no legal separation from the individual and the business in this entity type. Other entity types have different levels of separation and liability between the person and the business, therefore we do not allow such transfers to occur.
External Transfers
Our external account transfer service allows you to bring money into your PSECU account from accounts you have elsewhere. The service also allows you to transfer money from your PSECU account to accounts you own at other financial institutions. You may have more than one external account linked to your PSECU account. In order to use the external account transfer service, you must be the owner on the external account.
What you need
You will need a few pieces of information before you can set up an external account transfer:
- Routing number of other financial institutions
- Your account number at the other financial institution
- Type of account (checking or savings).
Set up
There are a few steps you will need to complete before you can schedule an external account transfer.
- Go to the Transfer area, select External Accounts, and then select Add External Account. Enter the other financial institution’s routing number, your account number, and the type of account.
- Once your external account is added, PSECU will send a small amount of money to the other financial institution to begin the verification process. It can take up to three business days for you to see the small deposit in the account you have at your other financial institution.
- Once the small deposit is in your account at your other financial institution, you will need to verify the deposit and enter that amount by selecting the Verify Account button in the external account details section.
- Once you have successfully verified the small deposit, you may go to the Transfers area and schedule an external account transfer.

Link your accounts in 3 easy steps.
- Log in. Once you have logged into digital banking and selected Transfers, select External Accounts, Add External Account, and then use the Instant Verification option.
- Link your accounts. Find your external financial institution and complete the necessary verification steps to confirm your information.
- Transfer. Begin making transfers within minutes once Plaid verifies your account.
Manual Verification
If you are unable to complete the instant verification process using Plaid, you must complete the small deposit verification before you add money to your PSECU share, pay a PSECU loan, or transfer money from your PSECU share to your account at another financial institution.
Where do I verify my small deposit to my external account?
Select Transfers, then select External Accounts. Select the external account that you need to verify, and then select Verify Account. Enter the amount that was deposited to your account at your other financial institution and follow the screen prompts. Once you add your external account and complete verify the account, you will not need to do it again, unless you remove the external account and want to add it back again.
If you enter the wrong amount when verifying your external account, the screen displays a message, “The deposit verification process is currently locked on your account." You will need to call us to resolve the issue.
Loans
Scheduling an automatic transfer
You can use your external account to pay all loans you have at PSECU, except a mortgage. You can schedule a recurring transfer from your external account to your PSECU loans except for Visa®s or past-due loans. In regards to past-due loans, with the exception of Visas, once they are brought current, you may setup a recurring payment from an external account transfer.

When will the loan payment from my external account post on my loan?
Your payment from an external account will post to your PSECU loan on the day it was scheduled between 8 p.m. and midnight. PSECU loan payments scheduled prior to 8 p.m. for the current day from an external account will be credited to your PSECU loan that same day, even on weekends and holidays. After 8 p.m., you may schedule your payment to be posted on the following day at the earliest, even on weekends and holidays.
Why can’t I replace my current payment method on a loan with an external account transfer?

In regards to past-due loans, with the exception of Visas, once they are brought current, you may replace its current payment method with a recurring external account transfer.
