PSECU Awards $48,000 to Six Students Through 30th Annual Scholarship Program

HARRISBURG, Pa. — August 11, 2026 — PSECU, Pennsylvania's digital-first credit union, has named six recipients of its 30th annual scholarship program, awarding a total of $48,000 to help students pursue higher education.

Each recipient is eligible to receive $2,000 per year for up to four years, for a total scholarship value of $8,000 per student, contingent on continued enrollment and maintaining the required minimum GPA.

From more than 200 applications, the following students were selected as this year's scholarship recipients:

“Investing in our communities means directly supporting members, and one of the most meaningful ways has been the three decades of our scholarship program,” said Chris Donofrio, Community Engagement Manager at PSECU. “This year’s recipients remind us why we started this program and why some of these awards carry the names of people who exemplified PSECU’s values.”

Three of PSECU's annual scholarships honor individuals who made lasting contributions to the credit union and their communities. The John J. Marisic Memorial Scholarship is awarded to the top applicant in honor of a longtime board member and community leader. The Frank J. Breiner Memorial Scholarship recognizes exceptional dedication to extracurricular activities and community service and honors a 52-year board member. The Michael A. Gottshall Memorial Scholarship recognizes a commitment to service before self in memory of a 12-year PSECU employee.

Since 1997, PSECU has awarded nearly $1.2 million in scholarships to more than 168 students. Applicants must be PSECU members and graduating high school seniors attending a two- or four-year postsecondary institution. Winners are selected based on academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, and critical thinking and writing skills.

Applications for PSECU's 2027 scholarship program will open in September.
