On July 6, PSECU, Pennsylvania’s anytime, anywhere digital credit union, held its 87th Annual Meeting virtually. During a Board of Directors meeting following the Annual Meeting, the Board elected a new slate of 2020 Board officers, effective today.
PSECU Continues Support of Canceled Community for Kids Golf Tournament, Encourages Financial Support for Event’s Beneficiaries
While the 6th annual Penn State Altoona Alumni Association Community for Kids Golf Tournament was canceled for 2020 due to COVID-19 precautions, Presenting Sponsor PSECU, Pennsylvania’s anytime, anywhere digital credit union, will maintain its financial support.
To assist students in managing their finances during difficult times - like those presented by the current global COVID-19 pandemic - PSECU, Pennsylvania’s anytime, anywhere digital credit union, and HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, recently partnered to host a free financial education event titled “A Virtual Chat on All Things Money.”
Forbes Magazine recently released its list of Best-In-State Credit Unions for 2020, honoring the top 3.5% of credit unions nationwide. PSECU, Pennsylvania’s anytime, anywhere digital credit union, is proud to announce that it was included as one of just five credit unions on the list for the state.
Pennsylvania’s anytime, anywhere digital credit union PSECU was recently presented with two Diamond Awards by Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Councils. Selected from more than 1,200 entries, the annual Diamond Awards recognize and reward creative excellence and outstanding results in credit union marketing.
Pennsylvania’s anytime, anywhere digital credit union, PSECU, continued its ongoing, multi-year support of Special Olympics Pennsylvania (SOPA) through participation in the recent Virtual Summer Games Unified Sports Experience and by serving as the Alumni Sponsor of The Paterno Family Beaver Stadium Run. In total, the credit union’s 2020 contributions to the nonprofit come in at $25K.
In late April, PSECU, Pennsylvania’s anytime, anywhere digital credit union, made a $25K donation to Feeding Pennsylvania to support the state’s food banks as they faced increased demand as a result of COVID-19. As part of this “PSECU Chips In” giving campaign, the credit union also reached out to its more than 450,000 members, asking them to consider making personal contributions throughout the month of May to further the fundraising efforts. Contribute they did. As of the end of the month, PSECU’s members donated a total of $44,542 to the cause.
PSECU shares our sympathy, regret, and outrage for the recent tragic event that unfolded in Minneapolis as well as to the many others who have fallen victim to the systemic racism and social injustice that has plagued our country for generations. The most recent tragedy reinforced the need for positive change and societal transformation going forward. As a community, we can and must do better.
Margaret Delmonico, retired Director of Public Relations at PSECU in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, has been named Credit Union Magazine’s 2020 Credit Union Hero of the Year. A publication of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA), the magazine annually honors an individual – selected by a national popular vote – who demonstrates a commitment to the longstanding “people helping people” credit union philosophy. This marks the 13th year for the award; Symitar is the 2020 sponsor.
PSECU will launch its new “You Can Make a Difference” tree planting campaign on June 1 to encourage members to switch from paper to electronic banking statements. For every ten member accounts that enroll in the service, the credit union will plant one tree. The goal of the campaign, which runs through June 30, is to plant 500 trees.
